Family of two seek others interested in acquiring land for secure off-grid living. Have general plans with a few alternate approaches for collaborative purchase of 60 to 80 acres with shares or leases to members coming in with less cash than others. Lots of experience with alternative and off-grid community. Have identified numerous pieces of acreage that would serve the purpose, offering abundant water, forest and privacy. Have done extensive research of micro-climate zones throughout region, targeting moderate weather balanced with longest growing seasons.

This group is vegetarian only – no animal maintenance and slaughter on the land. Pets welcome. Cows for milk welcome if properly managed, but there are dairies in the region, along with ample orchards and vegetable growing operations. We’re expert heirloom seed producers, into wild foods and all types of simple living, high thinking.

This is a God-loving group that welcomes all faiths and rigorously defends freedom of personal religious expression, as long as God’s at the center. Have a significant inventory of homesteading goods and tools to share, lots of vision and enthusiasm for hard work in a cooperative atmosphere. We also have in place some foundation for economic development, so cash can be earned by members in place, under all (or most) economic circumstances. Gun owners welcome (although this is Canada…) Militants, fanatics, addicts not welcome.

I,m tired of feeling alone as I am doing this. I have two forums I run for prepping… this one, most of the members are American. In order to see this full forum you have to register.

http://www.preparingforthefuture.org/index.php

and I started a Canadian Prepping form for Canadians. This forum is slowly gathering members, but there are not many places for Canadian preppers to meet and talk about what will happen to us if SHTF

anyone that is interested please feel free to register..

Hi everyone,

are there any communities in Ontario or there abouts looking for members? If not, is anyone interested in working together to develop a community?

We are a Christian family of nine (new to this site) living in southwestern BC, Canada, looking for like-minded preppers to form a group, or join a group.  Would love to know if there are other Christian, family-friendly preppers are out there nearby.

I am a Certified Journeyman Carpenter (I am very able to build a home/log home from foundation to rooftop) with a small Cabinetry shop.  I have a very strong desire to have a godly, knowledgeable family of hard-working children. Family is extremely important to me.

I have a little knowledge of older, carburated vehicles (self taught and still learning). We are presently raising meat rabbits, sometimes milking goats.  We do not own property, we currently rent a former dairy farm with about 7.5 acres, mostly buildings, no pasture (unfortunately).  We are debt-free.  We homeschool our children.

The Mrs. is skilled at making wine, canning, gardening, an astoundingly fantastic cook, and becoming very skilled at knitting.

Our children are aged 10 and younger, very mature for their ages and well-behaved and reverent.  The children are being taught on a regular basis to work, the two oldest girls are avid knitters, readers, and, as with all the children old enough to understand, avid learners.

We have been blessed to be able to store up much preps, and have learned how to maximize the use of our goods.  I am an avid hunter, shooter, and teaching my children the same.  My wife and I are  always on the same page–she’s my best friend–and we share a common interest in prepping/survival.

We are looking for a group to join/ or to form a group either nearby, or to be with the right people, we may relocate to be closer–a benefit of renting.  We are excited to meet others of a like mind to share and exchange ideas, knowledge, to perhaps meet with on a regular basis, and if the right situation arises, to share preps if needed.

If there are other, like-minded individuals, families or a group in BC, we’d love to get to know you!  Please email us at: homesickcarpenter@gmail.com

We are forming a group on 85 acres in NY.  Non religious- Non Political.  Cabins are being built currently.  One family has taken up permanent residence as caretakers.  Orchards are going in about 4 weeks from now, and animals begin arriving in two weeks.  Ponds, woods, and small river.  We welcome both men and women singles as well as families.  Willingness to work required.  If you do not have time to devote, we have people who will do your share, but will want to  be paid.  You still must be on property at least 4 times a year. This will be a complete set up with hydroelectric, wind and solar as well as back up gen.  Central commissary AND in cabin kitchens. Trade cabins (wood-shop, pottery, bees, dairy, etc) gun range, horses and all farm animals.  Every cabin will have it’s own small green house as well as large central greenhouses- including a tropical greenhouse with coffee, bananas, citrus, etc. We all pay equal shares,  live on land full time or part time- your choice. Children welcome, and we currently do have children in the group.  Bigots need not apply. We do have a vetting process, good natured and hard working people preferred.  Yes – we have a swimming pool ;)

2.5 hours outside NYC  close to PA, CT, NJ, MA and Canada

Hi there

I am a military trained physician who has his eyes open.

After speaking with a large number of preppers/survivalists I have realized that the best way I can help our movement is by making certain prescription meds available for your med kits.  These are NOT over the counter meds, but things that will save your life when the time comes ie shelf storeable antibiotics etc.  I will not do narcotics or painkillers  (although I will make suggestions if asked), but absoloutely no junkies.  Do not even ask me for narcotics please.  Also willing to offer advice on med kits and pharma that you should have.  Please dont waste my time and I wont waste yours

In the midsection of Ontario, in the heart of Muskoka wilderness tourist country, I secured a 100-acre retreat lot a number of years ago. It’s in the midst of rich and varied forest, but has clearings. It’s only a half mile off a main 2-lane, but down a road that is almost anonymous.
It is located between two cities of about 17,000+ populations, so you’re not far from a hospital or a mall, but far enough that NONE of the crap side of city living impinges on this space.
It has a well drilled down through 120′ of bedrock that provides pristine, sparkling pure water you can drink fresh out of the well (an eight-foot deep cavern deep down there is the source). It’s tested every 2nd year, and always comes back pure & delicious.
The place is far from any pollution source. The land is rippled with 60′ rises of bedrock, along with cliffs along the stream that flows N-S, the length of the property.
It’s forested in half old-growth, and half 60-year-old growth. There is a 1/2-mile long pond in the midst of it. A little work on that later will re-dam the pond to about a 10-foot depth, so that I can micro-hydro-electric the exit.
The billion-gallon pond then becomes my “battery”.

I just wondered if anyone else out there was looking future-forward enough to be just a little edgy about what’s coming down the line, and might be looking for a safe retreat WTSHTF. Never mind 2012 and all its implications… 2014-2015 is when the graph lines collide, in terms of energy demand, financial stagnation, crumbling societal standards, oil depletion, overpopulation, climate chaos, etc., etc.   You can fill in your own blanks.
Maybe nothing will happen… society will just keep grinding forward, with conditions slowly and inevitably fragmenting and getting more violent by degrees, and we’ll all just keep adapting, like the “boiled frog” syndrome.
But just in case, I’ve begun a little secure “cottage” on the land, and want to develop it further in terms of making a comfortable retreat in times of difficult living.
Wondered if anyone else in the Southern Ontario region is also forward looking, reasonably stable, NON-zealous about cult/religion/etc. (in other words, tolerant, open-minded, not locked into illogical ideologies), easy-going but no fool, has some basic agrarian and self-sufficiency skills, and such.
If so, get in touch. Maybe we can work something out.
I was widowed in my thirties, only a couple years after my wife and I bought the place. It’s an idyllic kind of space, as if you’d stepped back in time by about 10,000 years… no hydro lines, no pollution, no garbage, etc.
Kind of Walden-esque, but with a lot more creature comforts.
I’m currently living in Alberta for another few months, but am returning to Ontario this summer to continue work on developing the little retreat into a comfortable, secure home in the wilderness.
So much to do, so little time.
