Hi all, I have been involved in the preparedness movement since the early ’80′s. I am currently employed as a weapons parts and accessory designer /engineer for a respected AR15 manufacturer. I have gardening, metal fabrication, machine skills, gunsmithing skills, and of course design/engineering skills, also general handyman/construction. I have a decent level of preparedness now.
My girlfriend and I are looking to join a group. I would like to even find a group or form a group to start living a more self sustained life, ie. provide for most of my own food and energy. I could contribute or buy into some retreat land. I am open to many different retreat locations, even out of state.
We are spiritual, but not religious and prefer not to be involved in any extremist groups. We just want to start living a more simple life now, and not wait for the SHFT. And then be prepared if it dose happen.

Hi I’m looking to network with like minded people in my area. I’m trying to find out if there are other people prepping in my area, maybe even help each other out. I have welding/fabricating/mechanic/construction skills but lack many others. I would rather share info, trade, barter, buy from or just plain help out people that have a similar mindset. Not really sure how to post this as I really had intended it to be a survey. But couldn’t find a way to do that.

I ask this because we are an established group considering adding new members. However, when I ‘talk’ to people I just think they are SO behind the learning curve that they would be a liability and not an asset.

Looking to share my knowledge with other like minded people that live in or near La Habra,Ca area. Always trying to expand and learn and help others. I am still new to the site.
Well to Start out I live in La Habra, Ca with my family of five. experiences with outdoor survival and skills, prior military service and scouting has helped me through out the years. My family has most of the basics but always learning and looking for better practices. We are looking for a group either to join or start.
