My wife and I are just starting out on this path and are looking for like minded people to help us gain experience and prepare. We are both IT Professionals and live in the Jacksonville, FL area. We have two kids, 12 and 9. Next year is our 25th anniversary.
I don’t mind telling you that we are a bit overwhelmed at the prospect of what we are looking at. Our first steps are going to be centered around storing food/water, putting together Bug Out Bags for the family and car, continued education regarding prepardness, and finding a group.
Very interested in talking with other like minded people in our area.
Thanks,

If you can drive to Lake Placid Lakes Florida area in under 2 hours, this may interest you no matter where in Florida you are.
We’re currently a newly formed survival group consisting of several men, all former military, and a level 1 trauma paramedic and our wives. We currently reside in SE Florida and we recognize that if a shtf event materializes that we live in one of the most volatile area’s for civil unrest in the country. This realized, along with the fact that a bug out retreat should not be too far to reach, we are actively searching for a “bug-out” retreat to purchase, or rent-to-own in a more remote and rural area in central Florida. We have identified the area and we are actively in he process of enlarging our group to 10 men (+-) and their wives. We believe the expansion of our group could have significant advantages. We also recognize the more the people…the more the challenges from several perspectives also.
With 10 men, the economies of scale make it very affordable, farm-able and provide better security in strength of numbers. We believe our group should be as homogenous as possible within reason. We should share the same religious & political beliefs and cultural background to a large degree. We are all in healthy descent shape and should you be. Currently our ages range from 35-50 but age is not the important factor, your health, physical condition, belief system, ability to get along with others and your desire and moderate financial ability to prep are. We all know the basic items that will be needed and we can discuss this more in depth when we start to communicate.
If interested please email Robert: rbr813@comcast.net We look forward to hearing from you!
We live in SE FL, but have spent some time in a variety of places and climates. I’m an avid hunter and outdoorsman and have a very extensive medical background. I’m reasonably well prepared for being mobile, but don’t live in a place that is conducive to staying put, should the social climate deteriorate.
I grew up in a family that prized self-sufficiency and I think it has had a huge impact on how I live my life. My wife and I are in our 30s. We are relatively new to the area and making friends is a slow process, making friends with a similar mindset can take years. We are both fit and active.
I’d really like to meet other preppers locally. It’s amazing how much someone else’s perspective can offer, even in an area where I might feel quite competent. As time goes on, should personalities mesh, my hope is to be part of a larger network of well prepared folks. I think that we have a lot to offer in certain areas and a lot to learn in others. We truly look forward to emailing with or meeting anyone who feels similarly.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me for any reason

Hey I’m Julie,
My boyfriend and I currently live in Florida but we are seeking a retreat in Tennessee. We’ve been into preparedness now for almost 2 years but I feel we have acomplished quite a lot. We’re saving money to try and buy land in the southwestern part of Tennessee. We have already been for a visit and were going to put money down on a 5 acre piece of land but we were short on money. We are young. I’m 18 and Mike is 23 but we are very active and know a lot about gardening, canning, and raising chickens & ducks. We have a decent collection of guns and ammo comming along and are canning now. I’ve learned how to knit, crochet, make jellies and can them, and I’m a great cook as well as Mike. Anyway, we were looking to start our own retreat alone, but as we read Patriots and How To Survive 2012 we have realized it is just way too much work for one couple. We really loved Tennessee and we are looking for other’s that maybe would like to start a retreat with us or already have one that we could maybe join. I never really talk about this stuff so it’s nice to have a place where I can speak my mind.

looking for groups or people who would like to start a group in the central florida area
Hey Everyone,
I am looking to make a few contacts in the Tampa Bay Area of Florida (i.e. Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk Counties). I’m not trying to organize a group just e-mail with like minded people about ideas for preparedness. Examples being what are your current and upcoming supplies, what is some useful gear to have, suggestions on improving BOB, 72hr Kits, Home Supplies…so on and so forth. People other than the prefered area are welcome to e-mail (i just like having people in the area who know the local resources and climate). So yeah, feel free to e-mail me at scottgrdnr@gmail.com
thanks, and God bless
