Hello, my name is Steve. My wife and I are fairly new to the Survival Blog and preparing for “whatever is coming”.  We live in south-east Georgia near the city of Savannah. We are the parents of 4 kids, 3 of them are still at home and one is away at college.  We are in our 40′s, self-employed and conservative. Although we are new to the survival mentality we do have a long history of being hard-working and self-reliant.

We are conservative by nature and do not consider ourselves to be “political radicals”  (although we are very concerned about where our country is heading).

We are not racists, we are not militia-types, and consider ourselves to be “mainstream” hard-working middle-class folks. Due to everything that has happened to our country over the last two years our eyes have been opened up to the very bleak future that might lie ahead of us.

Now having said all of that, we are looking for like-minded people with a variety of skills to consider forming a “survival” group to exchange ideas, and perhaps form a strong allegiance to help each other out in the event of a crisis or a major disaster that takes us off the grid.

We don’t have all of the answers but are trying to learn as quickly as possible to prepare for the future.

We are looking for the following qualities in our group members:

1.    Ability to work closely with others

2.   Multiple skills   (carpentry,  mechanics, welding, electrical,  nursing, medical training, military, communications systems,  self-defense training, food storage skills,  security, teaching, etc,etc…)

3.   A willingness to learn new skills or perhaps teach your skill to others

4.   People who can handle stressful conditions and pressure. We are not interested in babysitting grown adults, we need level-headed people who can think under pressure.

5.  Folks who want to associate with good people and make a contribution to group survival and not play the “lone wolf” role. We are looking for folks who can get along.

I am new to this site and would like to introduce myself. I am a Reformed Presbyterian pastor in NW Georgia. I am married with three young children. I have begun preparations for organizing a retreat group in my area. I am looking for like-minded people to join me. This would be a ground up endeavor and we would all be learning, building, planning, and preparing together. I have always been survival minded but mainly in the sense of wilderness survival on my own. I have recently been coming to grips with the need to prepare my family (and somewhat my church) for the possible crises we will face in the future. This would entail a group to work together, not being a lone wolf on my own. I have much firearms experience, am an Extra Class Ham Radio Operator (15 years experience), have extensive wilderness knowledge and experience, and am an experienced educator of children in a home setting. My wife is very adept in areas pertaining to preparedness as well and is learning with me every day. Any Christian who is interested in speaking to me about this, feel free to contact me by my email. I am sorry I am not open to non-Christians but I am very open and vocal about my beliefs and do not wish to be forced to depend on someone who 1) Does not share my world and life view and 2) Could possibly be offended by my advocacy of Christian Faith and Ethics. I am not a white supremacist, conspiracy theorist, liberal, communist/socialist, or someone who desires to form an anti-government group to subvert the current civil authorities. I am however very conservative, against globalism, Theonomic, Calvinist, and Postmillennial in my beliefs. I have very strong pro 2nd Amendment beliefs and do not care for the current trends of jack booted thuggery in much (though certainly not all) of our law enforcement agencies. To the best of my knowledge I have a good relationship with all the various law enforcement agencies in the US and have even been an approved recipient of class 3 firearms tax stamps by the BATFE. I have no record at all and hope to never have one. I am a little influenced by James Wesley, Rawles but mostly have my own philosophy. I wish to remain in Georgia, for I was raised here and currently pastor here as well. I look forward to hearing from many of you good folks.

Currently looking to sell house in suburbs south of Atlanta and move to a permanent GOOD retreat. Our long term goal is to build a team of like-minded individuals to have as neighbors.
