greetings all.
i was scanning info on the net and was thrilled to come upon this site. i have no land or other major resources, but have been ‘prepping’ for the past few years by acquiring basic equipment, information, and experience. it would be wonderful to simply engage in dialogue on the topic and get a feel for local sentiment…i returned from a 3 year stay in denver colorado a year ago, and am weighing (heavily) my desire to return to the city and the GREAT community there with the evermore pressing reality of current trends. either way, i think what ultimately will see us all through to the other side of this historic moment is human relationships and community, so it would be great to get in touch. 
i shall pursue the emails visible in this forum.

I’ve come across this website from the Survival Blog, which should give you a little insight into myself right off the bat.
My family and I currently live on a small acreage in NE Iowa. We have a large garden, the beginnings of animals (chickens currently with with sheep/goats/or cows to come), and are developing the skills needed to survive in a world unlike what we have right now. Can we do it alone, no. I’m simply looking right now for other NE Iowa/SE Minnesotans/SW Wisconsinites who are of a similar mind set. We aren’t Rambos, wing nuts, or head cases, just simple folks trying to prepare the best they can while others around them go along either merry way.
Meeting down the road would be a possibility, but for right now, just finding and at least starting those conversations would be of interest. Respond here or at iateacher@hotmail.com and we can start from there. Thanks for reading and good luck to all of you.
I have seen the Iowa posts and have talked to some of you via e-mail. Seems like we’re looking for the same things. I suggest we see if we can work together toward our common goals.
I live just outside the des moines area and am looking for like minded people that have the prepper mentality. I have many skills and am prior military just like many others that i have seen on here. Training, tactics and ideas such as geographic ideas from des moines. I have many options to consider when it comes to protecting and preparing for my family. They are not as serious as I am when it comes to being prepared from bug out bags to stockpiles that i have. Please contact me at dave.barnes@mchsi.com if you have the same ideas or NO ideas. Wanting to find others around myself who are like minded. The friends and people I know currently wouldn’t be of any use to themselves nor my family if tshtf. Doesn’t matter what you tell em or for that matter show them. Im wanting to find new people with similar views share ideas and befriend. I just bought an acreage with 20 acres, a nice grove of trees to the north and west. I have a large machine shed, a corn crib and 5 grain bins. I plan on building a hog barn and have 4 or 5 pigs. also going to build a chicken coop, and raise some goats and a cow. To the north there is an area between the north and south grove that i plan on making an orchard and the rest of the land into native prairie (about 11 acres) with a wetland/pond.
i just wanted to update people who might think of joining in this area.
I have a little group going, 4 people at the moment, and we are looking for more people to join or for another group to merge with. We are not christians, I am an atheist and my wife is an agnostic. Nothing against christians but i have noticed that christian groups and people want either people who are christian or to be in a group that is christian. But anyways if anyone in the area or region is thinking of joining a group we could be it. Thanks for reading…
